Promoting creative SME solutions through IGP

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) promotes non-technical innovations by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the innovation program for business models and pioneering solutions (IGP). The program aims to realize a variety of new ideas in different future fields, from creative economy concepts to new platform formats, and does not necessarily require the integration of new technologies. After a successful pilot phase, the IGP will be continued with an optimized funding guideline, which is based on the experiences of the pilot phase and is intended to promote innovation through improved cooperation opportunities and more efficient processes.

The program's current call focuses on innovations for better learning and working, including new concepts for labor market integration, lifelong learning, gamification solutions in education and "new work" innovations. Another call is planned for early summer and will focus on health and care innovations. SMEs, start-ups, self-employed people, social enterprises and cooperating research institutions can apply with feasibility projects or market readiness projects. The IGP website offers comprehensive information on funding conditions, application procedures and useful resources for those interested.
