New horizons for it's OWL: Sustainable value creation through intelligent systems

The leading-edge cluster it's OWL can look back on a successful track record in promoting cooperation between business and science.

On February 22nd, over 130 representatives from companies and research institutions discussed the prospects for future work as part of a digital event 'Horizons it's OWL'. Sustainability and climate protection are seen as the next big challenge. With their expertise in the areas of digitalization and AI, the actors want to further develop OstWestfalenLippe as a model region for sustainable value creation.

it's OWL managing director Günter Korder is very satisfied with the activities of the top cluster it's OWL: “With over 200 members and around 30 projects worth 120 million euros, it's OWL has developed excellently in recent years. The financing of the cluster management by the state and the members is secured for another four years.” Successes can also be demonstrated with regard to the transfer to medium-sized businesses and the transfer projects initiated. Using an innovation platform, companies and research institutions at it's OWL will soon be able to easily access results and applications and network quickly.

Climate protection, sustainability and further digitalization are seen as the next major challenges for the industry. This potential is to be leveraged at it's OWL and to further develop OWL as a model region for sustainable value creation with intelligent technical systems.
