Federal funding for industry and climate protection (BIK)

In April 2024, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) will launch the Federal Promotion of Industry and Climate Protection (BIK), which aims to support national and European industry in their efforts to protect the climate. With a focus on climate-friendly investment and innovation projects, the program aims to advance the decarbonization of industry and pave the way for the use and storage of CO2. A distinction is made between two key areas: the decarbonization of industry and the technologies for Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), managed by the Competence Center for Climate Protection in Energy-Intensive Industries (KEI) and the Project Management Jülich – PtJ.
