From laboratory to industry
The TransBIB project, supported by the Federal Ministry with EUR 5.6 million, is a driving force in Germany's transformation towards a sustainable, industrial bioeconomy. The aim is to accelerate the development of bio-based solutions from the laboratory to industrial practice in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
TransBIB creates a Germany-wide network that brings together expertise in research, industry and politics to make it easier to implement and scale innovations. A key aspect is overcoming the 'Valley of Death', the difficult phase of market launch, by providing a 'one-stop shop' for bioeconomy resources.
By digitizing value chains and providing access to regulatory information, TransBIB promotes the realization of new, sustainable business models. The project places a strong focus on training future professionals to support the transition to a bio-based economy.
