The Digital Twin Academy: A springboard for Industry 4.0

By September 9th, 2023 September 27th, 2023 No Comments

Virtual meets reality

Digital Twin technology is considered a key technology of the fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0. This fascinating concept makes it possible to create virtual images of real objects and to digitally integrate the entire life cycle of products, machines and entire companies.

The Digital Twin Academy aims to advance this advanced technology in the Meuse-Rhine Euregio and in particular in North Rhine-Westphalia. Funded by various regional authorities and the European Regional Development Fund, the project connects academic institutions with industry and society. This creates a synergy that meets both current and future labor market requirements.

Target groups and goals

The project appeals to a wide range of target groups: from teachers and students to industrial workers and job seekers to business managers. It has two main objectives: testing digital twins in real business environments and increasing the Euregio's general knowledge and expertise in the field of digital twins.

Work packages

The central work packages of the project include the establishment of a Euregio Meuse-Rhine Digital Twin Community and the development of an innovative training program.
