Founders in North Rhine-Westphalia paint an optimistic picture

The NRW Startup Report 2023, commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, was published on September 21st.

Founders in North Rhine-Westphalia are optimistic about the conditions for startups. In the NRW Startup Report 2023, more than half (57 percent) of the founders surveyed see the startup ecosystem as good or very good. The wide range of events and funding opportunities in particular helps ensure that the start-up scene in the country finds suitable conditions. The biggest challenges respondents face are sales and customer acquisition, capital raising and product development.

Economics and Climate Protection Minister Neubaur emphasizes the importance of the innovative strength of founders for climate-neutral and digital transformation as well as the framework conditions for startup activities in NRW.

The positive assessment of the startup ecosystem by the dynamic start-up scene in North Rhine-Westphalia is seen as an encouraging signal. We continue to work intensively to offer young companies the best possible framework for their future-oriented ideas.

The NRW Startup Report 2023 is based on surveys of 110 startups and although it does not provide representative results, it does provide important insights into the current mood as well as the perspectives and challenges of the startup scene in North Rhine-Westphalia.
