NRW.innovativ visits the BMWK’s “Innovation Day for Medium-Sized Enterprises 2023” in Berlin

On June 15th, the BMWK’s SME Innovation Day 2023 took place in Berlin under the motto “Change through innovations”. As part of the event, around 300 exhibitors presented their innovative new developments, which were supported by the BMWK's open-topic funding programs. Despite the open-topic funding, the majority of the funded projects dealt with future topics such as climate protection, sustainability and digitalization. The event also offered participants from business, politics and government the opportunity to enter into dialogue with one another.

Type of event: Conference
Date: June 15
Organizer: BMWK
Number of participants: approx. 2,000

What's in it for NRW?

  • Continuation of the “Innovation Program for Business Models and Pioneering Solutions” (IGP) for market-related non-technical innovations. The focus of the funding is primarily on the novelty of the problem solution.
  • Reform of public procurement or transformation of procurement law (procurement transformation package). The aim is to simplify, professionalize, digitize and accelerate public procurement procedures.
  • Canada, the partner country for this year's Innovation Day, is an important strategic partner. The opportunities for cooperation at the federal state level should therefore be expanded.
