The NRW Innovation Strategy 2021-2027 and its innovation fields are now listed EU's S3 Platform The S3 Platform supports EU countries & regions in developing, implementing and reviewing their research and innovation strategies for smart specialization. A focus is on providing information, methods, expertise and advice to national and regional policy makers on the concept of smart specialization.

For North Rhine-Westphalia, the S3 Platform provides background information and descriptions of the innovation fields as well as details on North Rhine-Westphalia's participation in the thematic S3 platforms and the digital innovation hubs.
