The innovation competition “Industrie.IN.NRW” supports business and science in closing the value chain from material production to recycling.

Industry plays a special role in the successful transformation of North Rhine-Westphalia as a business location. The technological fields of “materials” and “production” as industrial strengths are central factors for North Rhine-Westphalia’s innovation and competitiveness. As innovation fields of the Regional Innovation Strategy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (RIS), they form an indispensable basis for new products and applications and will be implemented in the ERDF.NRW 2021-2027 via innovation competitions.

The innovation competition “Industrie.IN.NRW” supports business and science in closing the value chain from material production to recycling. The aim is to leverage potential in the areas of material development, production technology, production processes and product innovations and thus create new perspectives for the industry.

The following areas are supported across the entire material spectrum

  • the development and upscaling of innovative process technologies
  • the development of new manufacturing and recycling processes
  • the development of alternative (e.g. bio-based) materials, products and services for greater energy and resource efficiency

Networked autonomous processes (“smart factories”), artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing technologies and intelligent logistics processes are prerequisites for the development of innovative products and business models in all industrial sectors.

The submission deadline for the 1st submission round is Thursday, May 4, 2023, 4 p.m
