The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection is now funding eleven projects that applied through the state competition ZukunftBIO.NRW with a total of around nine million euros - including an innovative diagnostics platform and biodegradable barrier tapes.

On April 18th Economics Minister Neubaur presented the first three of eleven funding notices to Clickmer Systems (infectiology), Elixion Medical (future medicine) and Taros Chemicals (bio-based industry).

The aim of ZukunftBIO.NRW is to support the final development steps before products are launched on the market. In this way, ZukunftBIO.NRW enables a seamless funding connection, especially in addition to the ERDF innovation competitions, for projects whose funding starts earlier in product development. The innovation competitions are aimed specifically at SMEs that can also carry out projects in cooperation with other parties entitled to participate, such as universities and research institutions. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia offers a unique funding program that supports and accelerates the sustainable transformation of the broad SME landscape.
