The University Hospital of Bonn unveils its future-oriented medical campus

On August 18th, the long-awaited “Innovative Secure Medical Campus” (ISMC) project was officially presented at the University Hospital of Bonn (UKB).

Here are the highlights of the opening:

  • Modern technologies at the forefront: Artificial intelligence (AI) makes it possible to automatically detect tumors at an early stage. Surgical robotics are changing the surgical process, and autonomous shuttle buses offer improved navigation.
  • Focus on cyber security: Protective mechanisms against attacks on the UKB's IT networks show the priority of data integrity and patient safety.
  • Support at the highest level: NRW Economics Minister Mona Neubaur and KI.NRW Managing Director Dr. Christian Temath took center stage at the event, underlining the importance of the ISMC and highlighting the opportunities presented by AI and cybersecurity in healthcare.

The ISMC, which runs under the umbrella brand “Flagships powered by KI.NRW”, paves the way for digital transformation in healthcare and offers patients the most modern care options.
