“Setting sail for industrial implementation”

Under the title “ Setting sail for industrial implementation ”, we will discuss how biotechnology can make a difference on a larger scale and support society in achieving climate and sustainability goals.

The first day of CIC2023 will focus on the levers of monumental change towards climate and sustainability goals and show where biotechnology can really make a difference: in the use of sustainable resources, in enabling innovative processes and ultimately in closing the carbon cycle . Look forward to exciting presentations from academia, SMEs and industry on the topics:

  • Feedstock-agnostic processes,
  • Innovative production systems, and
  • Future carbon circles.

On the second day of CIC2023, the satellite event FARMŸNG: “Zero-waste biorefinery concepts” the questions: How can a waste-free biorefinery be set up and its supply with sustainably sourced raw materials ensure? How can all product flows be utilized? at the center of the discussion.

Based on inputs from the project's first vertical insect farm, a look at other value chains will be expanded in work sessions on the following topics:

  • planning and building,
  • Finding the right feedstock, and
  • Valorizing all product streams.

The sessions are framed by keynote presentations from science, industry and investors.
