Innovative approaches and projects at a glance
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is witnessing a paradigm shift in building culture: recognizing the value of existing buildings, using them intelligently and thus acting sustainably. The workshop “Sustainable and intelligent buildings” presents pioneering projects, in particular the Speicherstrasse harbor district in Dortmund. It illustrates how built heritage can be protected and urban spaces can be enhanced at the same time.
The strategies and innovations of the city of Dortmund do not go unnoticed. They represent groundbreaking solutions, such as the urban development of the northern Speicherstrasse and the renovation of the former health department.
The workshop has become more and more relevant in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2010. It acts as a meeting point for investors, planners and everyone who is interested in sustainable building in NRW. A dynamic program of introductory discussions, lectures and keynote speeches ensures interaction and knowledge transfer.
