From immunotherapy to AI: Bonn is taking off

A latest example of the innovative spirit in North Rhine-Westphalia are the three GO-Bio initial projects that started in Bonn. These initiatives, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), demonstrate the ambition and creativity of the researchers. They aim to transform early research ideas with high innovation potential into market-ready solutions.

With a budget of up to 100,000 euros, the BMBF supports these projects in the exploratory phase, which lasts up to twelve months. Ideas range from developing new immunological methods to treat cancer to using artificial intelligence (AI) to diagnose bone diseases to advanced diagnostic techniques for asthma.

The three projects, ImmunoBright, Bone2Gene and Combinatory Asthma Endotyping Assay, represent the inventiveness and future-oriented research in NRW. They show how the close networking between universities, research institutions and industry creates new ways to address the challenges of our time. With the GO-Bio initial funding, these projects not only receive a financial basis, but also a platform to put their innovative concepts into practice.
