On June 22nd, the “Green Industrial Transitions” workshop of the OECD and the Hertie School took place in Berlin. Actors from science, politics and business discussed, among other things, the role of standards for green and digital transformation, the possibilities of promoting low-carbon innovations for climate neutrality and the renaissance of industrial policy. The panelists agreed that industrial policy instruments can help advance the green transformation. Prof. Ufuk Akcigit stated in his keynote that the further promotion of non-green technologies would significantly slow down the green transformation.
