A groundbreaking project in the heart of the Ruhr area

The German Center for Mental Health (DZPG), based at the Ruhr University Bochum, focuses on closing gaps in care, strengthening prevention offerings and sustainably improving therapeutic approaches. The center is being funded with a total of 4.8 million euros over a two-year development phase, of which 3.7 million euros will flow directly to Bochum. Particular attention is paid to the mental health of children and young people in metropolitan areas. The knowledge gained should be transferred to other cities in order to sustainably improve mental health. The DZPG works closely with various partners and locations to bring together the best scientists and experts in the field of mental health.
