Save energy and protect the climate
Public facilities such as libraries, sports halls, and daycare centers are often energy-intensive buildings, especially older ones. The "Energy-Efficient Public Buildings" funding program aims to renovate these buildings to improve their energy efficiency and thus contribute to a decarbonized building stock in North Rhine-Westphalia. The program focuses on reducing energy consumption, increasing energy efficiency, and making a general contribution to climate protection.
With an impressive budget of €196 million, provided by the European Union and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, both investment-related and non-investment-related renovation measures are being promoted. These measures must go beyond legal requirements and guarantee a significant reduction in primary energy demand.
A wide range of public institutions, from cultural to social facilities, can benefit from this program. Priority for funding is given to municipalities, municipal companies, and non-profit organizations in North Rhine-Westphalia.
