Film and Media Foundation NRW supports games location NRW

to 10 games and VR projects. Four prototypes and six concepts were funded, including three serious games (educational games).

Prototype funding

  • “Riven Realms” is a survival game in which players embark on a journey into an open world with 3rd person gameplay, survival and building game elements. ( VestGames , Datteln, 100,000 euros)
  • “Repeater Boy” is a challenging 3D platformer that lets players explore an open world. ( Sluggerfly , Essen, 99,000 euros)
  • “Master Cody DATS” is a serious game (learning game) for primary school children with German as a second language on the Android and iOS platforms. DATS stands for German Development Training Game. ( Master Cody , Düsseldorf, 80,000 euros)
  • “HandicAPP Adventure 'From Trauma to Triumph'” is a serious game with point & click elements that aims to make it easier for people to return to life after an amputation. ( Routine Health , Düsseldorf, 60,000 euros)

Concept development

  • Cozy Alps ” is a game in the genre of so-called cozy games (feel-good games). ( Ingryd Soares dos Santos , Leverkusen, 20,000 euros)
  • Emergency Call 112 – The Ambulance Simulator ” is based on the game “Emergency Call 112 – The Fire Department Simulation”. ( Crenetic , Mülheim adR, 20,000 euros)
  • Terraformer ” is intended to be a mixture of research experience and deceleration game. ( World of VR , Cologne, 20,000 euros)
  • MINTinVR ” is intended to offer new opportunities for learning and experimenting in the “MINT subjects”. ( Christoph Rückert , Cologne, 19,000 euros)
  • The Coven ” is a digital card game about a group of outcast women branded as witches, set in the Black Forest in 1599. ( Max Selvi , Düsseldorf, 19,000 euros)
  • Fog & Flame ” lets players explore a world of board game fields that reshuffles every time a mysterious fog appears. ( neoLudic , Cologne, 16,000 euros)

The award committee, chaired by Filmstiftung Managing Director Petra Müller , includes Ronald Kaulbach (Studio Brand Director Ubisoft Blue Byte), Julia Pfiffer (Managing Director astragon Entertainment), Andreas Suika (Global Content Evangelist EPIC Games) and David von Galen (Head of the Media Industry Department at the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia). ). The next submission deadline is April 27, 2023.
