Apply now: Organic Founder Competition 2024 starts
The Bio-Security Competence Center is launching the Bio-Founders Competition 2024 to promote innovative ideas from the agricultural and food industries, biotechnology and biochemistry. Participants are invited to submit their revolutionary ideas by June 30, 2024 and take advantage of the chance to win valuable prizes and expert feedback.
Competition goals and topics
The focus is on the following bioeconomy topics:
- Ensuring food and resource security while protecting the climate, environment and biological diversity.
- Combining ecology and economics for sustainable development.
- Transforming the economic system to secure future prosperity.
- Supporting the international climate protection goals of the Paris Agreement through the bioeconomy.
Prices and benefits
Every fully submitted application receives a written report from peer reviewers and industry experts.
The first three places receive attractive cash and non-cash prizes:
- Place: €2,000 + non-cash prizes up to €2,000
- Place: €1,000 + non-cash prizes up to €1,000
- Place: €500 + non-cash prizes up to €500
Non-cash prizes include the following: Special coaching for startup teams, presentation opportunities to business angels or access to an extensive network and cooperation partners.
The award ceremony will take place on September 11, 2024 in the Bio-Security Competence Center, Bönen, from 3:00 p.m. After the award ceremony, a networking event takes place as part of an Oktoberfest, which offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and maintain contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.

Interested founders can submit their ideas in the form of a description of up to six pages. The expert jury evaluates the submissions and awards prizes to the most convincing ideas.
