Promoting supra-regional cooperation

Collaborations are a central success factor for the successful establishment of innovations. Many different Interreg programs therefore promote cross-regional cooperation.

The overview shows that various calls will start in the next few weeks and months that may be of interest to actors from NRW and for which additional events will be offered!

Another note at this point is the federal program Transnational Cooperation , which supports German actors in Interreg-B programs (e.g. Interreg Northwest Europe) in their transnational projects through national funding and support. The prerequisite for funding through this program is that the project contributes to sustainable and integrated spatial development.

Interreg Europe

This program represents an exciting opportunity, particularly for local, regional or national authorities, universities and economic development companies, to develop solutions to challenges within the EU priorities . It has recently also been possible to cooperate with partners from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine.

There are currently no further calls planned in this program, but there is still the opportunity to enter into an exchange with other political decision-makers and thematic experts via the Policy Learning Platform in order to get to know other perspectives, approaches to solutions and examples of good practice. One offer of the platform is to provide intensive thematic advice via a peer review process . These offers are aimed particularly at those involved in regional development processes.

In order to gain an insight into the possibilities of interregional cooperation, we would also like to point out the offers for the Interreg-Europe program at the European Week of Regions and Cities (October 7-10, 2024 in Brussels) :
