There are now over 1200 entries from business, science and qualification on the KI.NRW map. In addition to new software innovations, NRW's AI location is becoming even more attractive thanks to significant investments in hardware. Microsoft is building a large data center in the Rhenish Revier, one of the world's most powerful supercomputers will be launched at the Jülich Research Center at the end of 2024, and an Aachen semiconductor start-up will receive around 250 million euros in funding. The new motto is “AI instead of coal”, supported by state politics to make NRW sustainable as Europe’s leading industrial region.

The annual meeting on October 10th will discuss where these AI developments are headed. Accompanied by expert lectures from business and research, we will talk about the concrete effects of the AI hype and how companies, start-ups and SMEs have integrated AI into their processes. It also looks at how large companies from North Rhine-Westphalia are driving forward the topic of AI and what smaller companies can learn from them. The event in Cologne offers plenty of space for networking and professional exchange and is free of charge.
