Chemistry.NRW
The state cluster Chemie.NRW is organized by the VCI NRW. The central goal is to strengthen the innovative capacity of North Rhine-Westphalia chemical companies through value chain-related networking and to also integrate universities and scientific institutions into the network.
The chemical industry is characterized by a large number of product divisions that are integrated into a large number of value chains in customer industries. That is why the Chemistry Cluster focuses its work on key industry sectors in order to identify important future fields in North Rhine-Westphalia, to network businesses there with one another and with science, and to initiate independent thematic clusters in the fields where there is a critical mass of players.

Dipl.-Ped. Uwe Wäckers
Dipl.-Ped. Uwe Wäckers has been in charge of communications at VCI NRW since 2002 and has been intensifying his work as deputy since July 2018. Managing Director of the Chemical Industry Association, North Rhine-Westphalia State Association. In addition to his role in VCI NRW, he is also the central contact for the Innovation Working Group of Chemie.NRW, the central platform for the chemical industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. With his expertise, he represents the economic policy interests of over 460 member companies from the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors in North Rhine-Westphalia.
