ECCP event: Clusters meet Regions in Düsseldorf

On November 8th and 9th, 2024, Düsseldorf was a time of exchange for clusters all over Europe: The “Clusters meet Regions” event brought cluster organizations and regions together in the renowned Business Club Düsseldorf/Wirtschaftsclub Düsseldorf. The focus of the meeting, which took place in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), was the discussion about the role of cluster organizations in supporting the Twin Transition.

A special highlight was the excursion to ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe on November 9th. There, participants received insights into the ongoing transformation activities and the progressive process of decarbonizing steel production using hydrogen.

The event also offered a platform for high-level discussions and lectures. Among the guests were the Minister for Economy, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia, Mona Neubaur, as well as representatives of the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry.

There were also pitching sessions in which NRW clusters and networks could introduce themselves, as well as a matchmaking session to promote targeted cooperation partnerships.
