The future of industry is being written in Bochum right now!
The newly founded Research Center for Engineering Smarter Product-Service Systems (ZESS) at Ruhr University Bochum officially opened its doors to academia and industry on May 2, 2023. This inter- and transdisciplinary hub researches and develops methods, technologies, and systems to manage the rapid impact of new technologies on products, processes, business models, and value chains. The result? Smarter product-service systems (Smart PSS) that are crucial for industry.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Kuhlenkötter, a dedicated team of scientists researches the characteristic properties of smart product-service systems and translates them into usable models, technologies, and systems. The mission of ZESS is to bridge the gap and transfer innovative engineering approaches into industrial applications.
