The future of industry is now being written in Bochum!
The newly founded research center for engineering smarter product-service systems (ZESS) at the Ruhr University Bochum officially opened its doors to science and industry on May 2, 2023. The inter- and transdisciplinary hub researches and develops methods, technologies and systems to cope with the rapid influence of new technologies on products, processes, business models and value chains. The result? Smarter product service systems (Smart PSS), which are crucial for the industry.
Under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Kuhlenkötter, a dedicated team of scientists researches the characteristic properties of smart product-service systems and translates them into usable models, technologies and systems. The mission of ZESS is to build a bridge and transfer innovative engineering approaches to industrial applications.
