30,000 euros for innovative mobility solutions in North Rhine-Westphalia
The Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia has opened the application period for the Mobility Prize NRW 2025. Projects are being sought that contribute to the mobility transition in North Rhine-Westphalia with innovative, climate-friendly and future-oriented concepts. The prize is endowed with a total of €30,000 and is being awarded for the third time this year.
Individuals, initiatives, companies, start-ups, institutions, groups, or associations – in short, anyone working to make passenger or freight transport in North Rhine-Westphalia more sustainable – are eligible to apply. The prize money is tiered: €15,000 for first place, €10,000 for second, and €5,000 for third.
The application deadline is September 21, 2025.The selection process takes place in three stages: First, a panel of experts creates a shortlist; then, a specialist jury selects five finalists. The final decision is made by the public via online voting. The award ceremony will take place on December 8, 2025, as part of Mobility Day.NRW .
The Mobility Award was launched in 2023 by the Alliance for Mobility. Previous winners include the Citizens' Lab Mobiles Münsterland, the Lüdinghausen Citizens' Bus, and the Cologne-Porz E-Bus Depot.
