Promoting start-up innovations in North Rhine-Westphalia
“Start-up Transfer.NRW” is a program of the North Rhine-Westphalia state government and the European Union that provides financial support for innovative university spin-offs. In the current round of the competition, eleven of the nineteen proposed projects were selected for funding, with a total budget of approximately €2.9 million.

This initiative, part of the €40 million European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), ensures that creative scientific potential is translated into practice, enabling North Rhine-Westphalia to participate in the business models of tomorrow.

is aimed at founders and founding teams at universities and research institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia. They can receive up to €270,000 for a maximum of 24 months. This includes the further development of research results, preparation for starting a business, and project-related consulting.

The range of funded projects extends from innovative bioprocess development methods and privacy-friendly apps to digital health applications and sustainable energy generation solutions. Each of these projects reflects the commitment and ingenuity of the North Rhine-Westphalian academic community.
