Expertise published on the topic of open source in production
The research advisory board of the Industry 4.0 platform published an expert report entitled “Open Source as an innovation driver for Industry 4.0” on May 19th. As part of a study, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) and the Chair of Industrial Information Management at TU Dortmund examined the opportunities and potential for production and Industry 4.0. Based on an expert survey, options for action on four key points were derived and potential funding measures were presented, in particular to promote the use of open source in the Industry 4.0 environment.
