omlox test lab: A milestone for localization technologies

The omlox testing laboratory opened in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2023. "omlox" is a future-oriented standard for localization technologies, developed to enable manufacturer-independent integration of various localization systems such as UWB, 5G, RFID, QR codes, and GPS. This standard, maintained by the PROFIBUS User Organization, makes it possible to efficiently use and connect localization information in production environments.

The omlox testing laboratory at the Fraunhofer Institute in Lemgo marks a crucial step in the development of the omlox standard for localization technologies. As the world's first of its kind, this laboratory tests and certifies the conformity of omlox components to ensure interoperability and system quality. It supports the vision of revolutionizing industrial localization by creating an open and flexible standard. This development not only strengthens North Rhine-Westphalia as a technology hub but also offers new perspectives for digital transformation and Industry 4.0 across Europe.
