A prime example is the automotive supply industry, where North Rhine-Westphalia has historically held a leading market position thanks to its hidden champions, whose innovative strength plays a central role in the mobility of the future.

Connected mobility in North Rhine-Westphalia requires multifaceted innovations to meet the diverse needs of urban centers, larger cities, and rural areas, as well as individual personal requirements. The focus is therefore on the intelligent integration of all modes of transportation – from walking and cycling to public transport and cars. Furthermore, North Rhine-Westphalia is also targeting far-reaching disruptive technologies and concepts such as hydrogen, electromobility, and autonomous flight to position itself at the forefront of innovation in connected mobility.
