The competition:

Innovations in the areas of life sciences, medicine and healthcare play an important role in the development of a modern and sustainable healthcare industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. With this context in mind, the innovation competition “Gesünder.IN.NRW” aims to promote innovative solutions in the knowledge and research-intensive subject areas of cutting-edge medicine, medical technology, life sciences, nutritional sciences and pharmacy.

The competition supports research, innovation and development projects that are based on the innovation fields of the Regional Innovation Strategy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (RIS) and aim to promote climate-, environmentally- and resource-friendly health care and the health economy in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Research, innovation and development projects are funded in three thematic areas:

  • Innovative medicine and life sciences
  • Health
  • Nutrition

The target group:

The competition is aimed at:

  • small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
  • large companies (only in cooperation with SMEs)
  • Municipal companies and institutions
  • Research and educational institutions
  • Chambers, associations and foundations

If a project involves research or experimental development, it can only be carried out in collaboration with several people eligible to participate.
