North Rhine-Westphalia launches “innovation2business.nrw”: Funding for the commercial exploitation of patents
The state government of North Rhine-Westphalia has launched the "innovation2business.nrw" program to specifically promote the commercialization of patents from universities and research institutions. With a budget of €7.5 million over the next three years, the state is sending a clear signal in support of innovation and competitiveness.
Bridge between science and business
The program aims to accelerate the practical application of scientific inventions. Through professional protection and targeted patent transfer, companies will gain easier access to innovative technologies that strengthen their market position and support the transformation to a more sustainable economy. A total of 27 universities from North Rhine-Westphalia are participating in this program.
Funding for universities and research institutions
The funds provided will be used to:

- to support the economic exploitation by companies,
- To improve transfer processes between research and industry.
