Competence Network Environmental Economy.NRW

The Competence Network Environmental Economy.NRW (KNUW) is the driving force for ecological value creation in North Rhine-Westphalia. As a statewide network commissioned by the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, we pool cross-sectoral expertise from the various sub-markets of the environmental economy and connect companies, start-ups, research institutions and other stakeholders in NRW.

North Rhine-Westphalia is in the midst of industrial transformation. Ecological solutions are becoming the driving force behind innovation and economic growth. By connecting stakeholders from business, politics, and science, knowledge is transformed into added value. We are focusing on three key areas to achieve this:

  • Networking: We bring the right people together – from business, research, administration, and politics. Through events, workshops, trade fair appearances, and the annual SUMMIT Environmental Economy.NRW, we create spaces for exchange and cooperation.
  • Knowledge and technology transfer: We make knowledge usable. Through dialogue formats, specialist events and publications, we provide impetus for development and promote the transfer of innovations into practice.
  • Sales support: We create visibility for innovative companies from North Rhine-Westphalia – for example through joint stands at international trade fairs, panels and targeted specialist events.

Nicolas Deutsch is responsible for the overall project management of the Competence Network Environmental Economy.NRW. He has many years of experience in the strategic support of networks and relevant stakeholder groups in North Rhine-Westphalia. His expertise includes, in particular, the development of network structures and advising companies and public institutions on topics such as the energy transition and climate protection.

Gloria Funke

Gloria Funke is a project manager and responsible for network management at the Competence Network Environmental Economy.NRW. She brings together companies in the environmental sector and creates structures that strengthen innovation and sustainable business practices in North Rhine-Westphalia. Her expertise includes network management for energy suppliers as well as strategic consulting for public sector clients on energy transition and climate protection.

Evamaria Lutz is the deputy project manager and is responsible for international visibility and partnerships, as well as communication and public relations. She strengthens the perception of North Rhine-Westphalia's environmental industry both domestically and internationally and creates platforms for exchange and networking. Her expertise includes national and international cooperation as well as the conception and implementation of events.
