From laboratory to industry
The TransBIB project, supported by the Federal Ministry with €5.6 million, is a driving force in Germany's transformation towards a sustainable, industrial bioeconomy. Its aim is to accelerate the development of bio-based solutions from the laboratory to industrial practice in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
TransBIB is creating a nationwide network in Germany that pools expertise in research, industry, and politics to facilitate the implementation and scaling of innovations. A key aspect is overcoming the 'Valley of Death', the difficult market launch phase, by providing a one-stop shop for bioeconomy resources.
By digitizing value chains and providing access to regulatory information, TransBIB promotes the realization of new, sustainable business models. The project places a strong emphasis on training future specialists to support the transition to a bio-based economy.
