The healthcare sector is gaining in attractiveness for founders in North Rhine-Westphalia
North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) is becoming an increasingly attractive location for founders in the healthcare sector. This is the conclusion of the Digital Health Start-up Monitor NRW 2022, which was compiled by Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) in collaboration with the Healthcare Living Lab in Düsseldorf. The study provides an overview of the digital health start-up landscape in NRW and is based on an online survey, database analysis, and expert interviews. According to the study, the focus of these start-ups is primarily on digital products and digitally supported services.
Based on the analysis results, concrete recommendations will be formulated on how founders in the field of digital health can be better supported in the future. These include establishing a central contact point and a network throughout North Rhine-Westphalia to promote exchange within the startup community. Furthermore, the implementation of continuous monitoring focusing on digital health startups is recommended.
