62 million euros for regional development and transformation in North Rhine-Westphalia
Forward-looking projects for climate-neutral transformation, the circular economy, and blockchain in logistics – the regions of North Rhine-Westphalia are brimming with innovative ideas. To realize these ideas, the state government and the EU are supporting these developments with 62 million euros.
The aim is to strengthen collaboration between research and industry and to implement innovative, sustainable technologies in practice. Within the framework of the first call for projects, “Regio.NRW – Transformation,” of the ERDF/JTF program NRW 2021-2027, 33 projects were recommended for funding. A second round of applications is planned for autumn 2024.
The selected projects vary in their themes and demonstrate the transformative power of the regions. They encompass future-oriented technologies, resource efficiency, digitalization, skills training for climate-neutral transformation, and support in dealing with the consequences of climate change.
