Digitalization, AI and societal change in focus

The first creative.summit in Düsseldorf, taking place on June 20, 2024, will address key challenges of our time under the motto "Turnaround." Digitalization, artificial intelligence, and resource scarcity will be the focus of the event, which brings together prominent representatives from science, politics, society, and the (creative) industries. The aim is to develop solutions for the necessary social and economic transformation through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and audience Q&As.

Transformation, society and the economy are the three main themes of the summit, which will be explored through high-caliber keynote speeches and panel discussions.

Transformation: Change through design or disaster?

The event begins with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Maren Urner, a renowned neuroscientist and author. In her speech, "Change by Design or Disaster? – How we can achieve the former with brains and common sense," she addresses the necessary mindsets to master current challenges. She will then discuss the practical application of her theories with Mona Neubaur, Minister of Economic Affairs for North Rhine-Westphalia.

Society: The role of journalism in democracy

The first panel discussion will examine whether and how journalism can save democracy while simultaneously being economically successful. Experts such as David Schraven from CORRECTIV and Nadja Schick from GroupM will discuss the challenges arising from changes in the press and broadcasting market, particularly the impact of the creator economy and AI-generated content.

Economy: The future of business in times of digitalization

Technological progress offers enormous economic opportunities for the creative industries. However, the question of what the economy will look like in the future when digitalization and AI increasingly replace human labor remains open. This topic will be explored in greater depth in a further panel discussion with Bianca Creutz (Prognos AG), Prof. Dr. Verena Hermelingmeier (bonnvivir GmbH/Alanus University), and Oliver Kuschel (Impact Factory).
