Funding call supports new formats of science communication – applications are possible until September 9, 2026.
The Science Year 2027 is dedicated to space travel and its significance for society, research, and the future. The focus will include sustainable space technologies, innovations for life on Earth, and issues of national and international security.
the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) is funding innovative science communication projects. The ministry is seeking formats that convey research and space exploration in a clear and understandable way, reaching diverse target groups. Particular emphasis is placed on programs for people who have had little or no prior exposure to science and research.
The funded projects are intended not only to highlight the diverse importance of space travel, but also to provide new impetus for the further development of science communication in Germany.
Interested researchers and other stakeholders can now submit project ideas. The application deadline is September 9, 2026. Further information on funding conditions, requirements, and deadlines can be found in the BMFTR funding guidelines.
