Apply now: Organic Startup Competition 2024 is starting
The Bio-Security Competence Center is launching the Bio-Founders Competition 2024 to promote innovative ideas in the agricultural and food sectors, biotechnology, and biochemistry. Participants are invited to submit their revolutionary ideas by June 30, 2024, and take advantage of the opportunity to win valuable prizes and receive expert feedback.
Competition objectives and themes
The focus is on the following topics in the bioeconomy:
- Ensuring food and resource security while simultaneously protecting the climate, environment and biodiversity.
- Linking ecology and economy for sustainable development.
- Transformation of the economic system to secure future prosperity.
- Support for the international climate protection goals of the Paris Agreement through the bioeconomy.
Prices and benefits
Every fully submitted application receives a written review from expert reviewers and industry specialists.
The first three places will receive attractive cash and material prizes:
- First place: €2,000 + prizes in kind up to €2,000
- First place: €1,000 + prizes in kind up to €1,000
- First place: €500 + prizes in kind up to €500
Prizes include: Special coaching for founding teams, presentation opportunities to business angels, and access to an extensive network and cooperation partners.
The award ceremony will take place on September 11, 2024, at the Bio-Security Competence Center in Bönen, starting at 3:00 p.m. Following the ceremony, a networking event will be held in the form of an Oktoberfest celebration, providing an opportunity for exchange and networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

Interested founders can submit their ideas in the form of a description of no more than six pages. A panel of experts will evaluate the submissions and award prizes to the most compelling ideas.
