Founders in North Rhine-Westphalia paint an optimistic picture of the mood

The NRW Startup Report 2023, commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, was published on September 21st.

Founders in North Rhine-Westphalia are optimistic about the conditions for startups. In the NRW Startup Report 2023, more than half (57 percent) of the founders surveyed rate the startup ecosystem as good or very good. The wide range of events and funding opportunities, in particular, contributes to the fact that the startup scene in the state finds suitable conditions. The biggest challenges faced by the respondents are sales and customer acquisition, raising capital, and product development.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Neubaur emphasizes the importance of the innovative strength of founders for the climate-neutral and digital transformation as well as the framework conditions for startup activities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The positive assessment of the startup ecosystem by the dynamic startup scene in North Rhine-Westphalia is seen as an encouraging sign. Intensive efforts will continue to provide young companies with the best possible conditions for their forward-looking ideas.

The NRW Startup Report 2023 is based on surveys of 110 startups and, although it does not provide representative results, it gives important insights into the current mood as well as the perspectives and challenges of the startup scene in North Rhine-Westphalia.
