On June 22, the OECD and the Hertie School hosted the "Green Industrial Transitions" workshop in Berlin. Participants from academia, politics, and business discussed, among other things, the role of standards for the green and digital transformation, the possibilities of promoting low-carbon innovations for climate neutrality, and the resurgence of industrial policy. The panelists agreed that industrial policy instruments can contribute to advancing the green transformation. In his keynote address, Professor Ufuk Akcigit stated that, conversely, further promoting non-green technologies significantly slows down the green transformation.
