With the introduction of the NIS2 Directive, the EU is setting new standards for cybersecurity that also affect small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in North Rhine-Westphalia. To address these challenges, the state initiative ProduktionNRW has established the NIS2 Contact Point NRW . This offers companies free initial consultations to support them in implementing the new requirements.
What is the NIS2 directive?
The EU's NIS2 directive (Network and Information Security) sets out stricter measures for protection against cyberattacks and the security of critical IT infrastructures. Companies must meet extensive requirements, including the implementation of security measures, incident reporting, and compliance with regulations.
Support for SMEs
The NIS2 contact point in North Rhine-Westphalia helps SMEs in particular to understand and implement the requirements of the directive. The focus is on topics such as:
- Assessment of one's own cybersecurity situation,
- Information on legal requirements,
- Assistance in identifying initial measures to increase IT security.
Important decision for companies
The advice provided by the NIS2 contact point enables companies not only to improve their cybersecurity standards but also to minimize legal risks. In light of increasing threats from cybercrime, this initiative is an important step towards strengthening the digital resilience of North Rhine-Westphalia's economy.
