New funding opportunities from the ERDF/JTF North Rhine-Westphalia program in January 2023

With the publication of two new calls for proposals, the ERDF/JTF program in North Rhine-Westphalia is starting the new year with a strong launch.

The "NRW Patent Validation" funding competition is aimed at leading researchers developing innovative products for a better economy and society. "GreenEconomy.IN.NRW" —the first of six innovation competitions— focuses on innovative ideas and entrepreneurial solutions in the fields of environmental economics, circular economy, and climate adaptation.

Apart from that, the funding call “Digitalisation of non-profit sports facilities in NRW” provides funds from the development program “REACT-EU”.

The ERDF/JTF program NRW 2021-2027

On June 28, 2022, the European Commission approved the ERDF/JTF program for North Rhine-Westphalia 2021-2027. The program will support the implementation of forward-looking projects with an investment volume of €4.2 billion until 2027.

Beyond innovation, the areas of sustainability, promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises, quality of life, mobility and structural change in coal-mining regions are also financially supported.

The funding program focuses particularly on small and medium-sized enterprises, universities and research institutions, as well as municipalities.
