Mobility Award NRW 2023: Innovative mobility concepts honored
The Mobility Award NRW 2023, an initiative of the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia, presented its first awards to innovative mobility projects on Monday, December 18, 2023, as part of the NRW Mobility Day in Essen. This award recognizes pioneering mobility solutions from or for North Rhine-Westphalia and provides new impetus for a climate-friendly transformation of transport and society.
The winners of the Mobility Award:
The "Citizen Lab Mobiles Münsterland" of the Coesfeld district received first place for its systemic approach to improving mobility in rural areas. Second place went to the "Power Road by Eurovia" project from Vinci Construction Shared Services GmbH, which focuses on the use of solar heat from road surfaces. Third place was awarded to Wupsi GmbH for its on-demand service "efi" for Leverkusen and the Rheinisch-Bergischer district.
Innovation and a broad spectrum of submissions:
The Mobility Prize NRW, a combined jury and public award, was characterized by a wide range of creative and sustainable project proposals. The finalists were first selected by a jury of experts before the public voted online for the winners. The three best projects were awarded a total of €30,000 in prize money, intended to contribute to the further development of their projects.
More than just an award: A platform for mobility innovations.
This award is not only a recognition of outstanding projects, but also a springboard to raise awareness of innovative mobility solutions and encourage others to follow suit. The Mobility Award NRW underscores the commitment of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia to supporting and promoting creative solutions for the mobility transition.
