The Forum for Health Research presents 21 concrete measures to strengthen entrepreneurial culture and transfer processes
The Forum for Health Research has published new recommendations to specifically promote the spin-off of biomedical startups from academic institutions. The aim is to bring innovative products and technologies into patient care more quickly. The paper is aimed at stakeholders in research, politics, funding, and capital markets and was developed in dialogue with a wide range of stakeholders.
The 21 recommendations include improving the framework for spin-offs, strengthening the entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurship education, and promoting flexible career paths for researchers. They also address accelerating processes related to intellectual property and participation models. Positive examples from Germany and abroad demonstrate how a transfer-oriented approach can be successfully implemented.
The forum also calls for transfer achievements to be given greater consideration in university evaluation mechanisms and for transfer successes to be made visible.
