The continuing education program at the HDZ NRW in Bad Oeynhausen establishes North Rhine-Westphalia as an important location for highly specialized medicine.

At the Heart and Diabetes Center North Rhine-Westphalia (HDZ NRW) in Bad Oeynhausen, four anesthesiologists have successfully completed a Europe-wide recognized fellowship in cardiac anesthesia. The program, specifically developed in East Westphalia, adheres to the standards of the European Association of Anesthesiologists and Anesthesiologists (EACTAIC) and offers structured, multi-year specialization for board-certified anesthesiologists.

The training program covers both basic and highly specialized content – for example in pediatric cardiac anesthesia or transesophageal echocardiography – and helps to specifically train medical personnel for the treatment of complex cardiac patients.

With the continuous expansion of the program and the addition of more participants, the HDZ NRW underscores its role as one of the leading centers in Germany. At the same time, the initiative strengthens North Rhine-Westphalia's position as a significant location for innovative, cutting-edge medicine and European-networked training.
