On the way to a green hydrogen economy
Germany's energy transition will lead to a future dependence on green hydrogen imports. In a recently published study, the DLR Project Management Agency, together with partner institutions, examined potential hydrogen partnerships with African and Asian countries that offer a sunny, conducive environment for green hydrogen production.
These partnerships could be beneficial for all involved, provided they are established sustainably. The study examined the technical, economic, and social impacts that green hydrogen production could have in the five potential exporting countries. The results were presented to the German Bundestag at the end of May 2023 and are intended to serve as recommendations for future action.
