From immunotherapy to AI: Bonn is taking off
A recent example of the innovative spirit in North Rhine-Westphalia are the three GO-Bio initial projects that have been launched in Bonn. These initiatives, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), demonstrate the ambition and creativity of researchers. They aim to transform early research ideas with high innovation potential into market-ready solutions.
With a budget of up to €100,000, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is supporting these projects in the exploratory phase, which lasts up to twelve months. The ideas range from the development of new immunological methods for cancer treatment and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for diagnosing bone diseases to advanced diagnostic techniques for asthma.
The three projects, ImmunoBright, Bone2Gene, and Combinatory Asthma Endotyping Assay, exemplify the inventiveness and future-oriented research in North Rhine-Westphalia. They demonstrate how close collaboration between universities, research institutions, and industry is creating new approaches to addressing the challenges of our time. With GO-Bio initial funding, these projects receive not only financial support but also a platform to put their innovative concepts into practice.
