Cross-border innovation in agribusiness through AGROPOLE INNOVATES
The ambitious project “AGROPOLE INNOVATES” is revitalizing and innovatively shaping agribusiness in the German-Dutch border region. With a multifaceted approach, the project addresses local and global challenges, strengthens the value chains of animal and plant products, and promotes a more sustainable and efficient agribusiness industry.
The project team comprises a diverse range of interdisciplinary fields: agriculture, horticulture, suppliers, food processing companies, software and automation technology providers, service companies, public institutions, and educational institutions. Together, they are committed to the common goal of strengthening the industry's innovative capacity and promoting sustainable solutions.
In four specific thematic areas, the teams are working on groundbreaking solutions ranging from the use of organic waste streams from insect production to the improvement of plant protection and animal welfare, and the application of artificial intelligence.
The innovation platform plays a key role, serving as a central hub for knowledge exchange and collaboration. It not only promotes knowledge transfer but also plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining skilled professionals, which is essential for the industry's transformation towards greater ecological, economic, and social sustainability.
